QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates must have strong sight-reading skills and be able to perform various musical styles.
Applicants for positions such as Oboe and Bassoon must also be able to perform on a traditional marching band instrument.
BENEFITS: College students can receive Montgomery
GI Bill(approximately $300.00 a month) to help with college expenses. Members also receive 100% tuition paid for any state funded college or university in West Virginia. If you want
to go to a private college in West Virginia you qualify to receieve tuition assistance equal to the highest state college rate plus up to $4,500.00 a year from the National Guard Federal
Tuition Assistance Program. If you receive Promise Scholarship, we will match the tuition in the form of a check to you each semester. Out of state students also recieve 100% tuition paid for state colleges in WV.
AUDITION PROCESS: Auditions are schedules through CW4 Tom Goff, the 249th Army Band Bandmaster or your local WV Army National Guard Recruiter.
The audition will consist of the following: scale performance, sight-reading, and a solo of your choosing.
